Tyler has assisted the performing arts department on numerous occasions helping out with small scale performance to large productions such as our annual pantomimes and musical theatre showcases. He is highly experienced and knowledgeable - especially using the equipment within our department which he has studied and mastered independently in his own time. Tyler has been the lead sound and light technician, from designing to running shows throughout his time as a student, often generously giving up his free time to support performances. He has also recently volunteered time to pass on his knowledge and experience, teaching current students how to programme and run the sound and lighting equipment. Tyler has also been responsible for filming and editing productions, recording and mastering the sound to a professional level. Tyler has been an exceptional asset and an invaluable member of our team.
I have known Tyler for 6 years, we first met when he was working the sound desk at Woodham Academy, during a school musical.
He is quick to learn and keen to be involved and offer whatever help he can.
There are not enough superlatives to describe Tyler and his commitment to any project.
We first met Tyler through a project that we were running at the college where he was studying. He supported the project as an in-house music technician for recordings of voices and woodwind we required, and noticing his abilities and his interest in our work, we asked if we could keep in touch. Tyler has since worked with us on a number of youth initiatives as music composer/digital artist. Using the environments; nature reserve / town centre / train museum, he shared his skills of music concrete in an encouraging and fun way with great end results, linking sound with visuals in a seamless and engaging way.
